What CRI should an EDC light have?

Look for 90+ CRI if you care how colors look under the beam — inspecting skin for splinters, matching wire, judging paint or food. High-CRI emitters cost a small amount of maximum lumens, a trade most enthusiasts happily make. Below about 70 CRI, colors look flat and washed, which is why bargain lights can feel harsh.
